Troubleshooting: Error 75 - path/file access error

Windows XP

1. Using My Compter or Windows Explorer, browse to the Legacy folder on the hard drive and click on it once with the RIGHT mouse button.
2. A popup menu will open. Click once with the left mouse button on Sharing and Security.
3. The Properties - Sharing screen will open. Put check marks in the boxes for 'Share this folder on the network' and 'Allow network users to change my files' (do this even if your computer is not networked).
4. Click Apply and then click OK.

Try Legacy again. If it doesn't work, then backup your data and pictures to a safe place. Browse to the Legacy folder on your hard drive and open it. Delete all of the files, with the following exceptions, LEGACY.USR and any files with a .LIC extension. Do not delete these. Also, do not delete any of the folders, for example DATA and PICTURES as these have your family file(s) and pictures, etc.

Next download and install Legacy Family Tree from our web site. For Legacy Family Tree 7.0 please visit http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/DownloadLegacy.asp. For Legacy version 6.0 or earlier please visit http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/helpDownloadVersion6.asp.
